Client

The client is a German company that provides solutions to enable newspapers and magazines to digitize their print editions, including releases, supplements, and brochures. Earlier this year, the client requested the development of a back-end server for a mobile application, allowing users to read issues via a mobile app. Elinext's senior-level expertise in Java and quick client response made us a reliable partner for the nine months of this project.

Solution

The back-end of the mobile application operates in the following way: a newspaper or magazine sends an archive of a printed issue to the server along with an XML file containing HTML pages, images, and scripts. The server processes and unpacks the content, making it available within the mobile application. Readers who have either a subscription or access to individual publications can read issues using the built-in reader. Each publication has various supplementing elements, such as images, videos, audio, and links.

Results

As a result of this collaboration, an Elinext developer built the back-end part of the mobile application designed for readers to access digital copies of magazines and newspapers from a mobile phone. The mobile application will be released soon to a wide audience.
