About Client

Our customer is the German branch of one of the world’s largest tourism companies. Based in Hannover, Germany,  the company operates a comprehensive network of tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and cruise lines, providing tailored travel experiences to millions of customers globally. Delivering digital experiences at scale — from global booking engines to community platforms like a social network for pet lovers — is central to Elinext’s mission.

Business Challenge

Our customer aimed to test a new version of their Internet Booking Engine (IBE), a core digital product for direct customer bookings. Before moving forward with full-scale development, a prototype was needed for internal panel testing to evaluate user experience, design direction, and core functionality. This reflects Elinext’s experience with bespoke business software, including a CRM for a technology company that consolidates client data, deal pipelines, and technical support workflows in one system. A related Elinext project is its own elinext applicant tracking development platform — a purpose-built ATS that replaced spreadsheet-based hiring with structured workflows, role-based access, and automated status notifications. A parallel initiative at Elinext produced an elinext business process automation app — a purpose-built system that replaced ad-hoc email approvals with structured, rule-based automation covering procurement, HR, and project intake flows. Elinext’s internal HR toolkit includes an elinext corporate holiday calendar — a purpose-built web app that displays country-specific public holidays, integrates with leave management workflows, and helps team leads plan capacity in advance. Elinext also built its own elinext CRM development — an internal system that centralises contact management, tracks sales opportunities through a structured pipeline, and gives relationship managers a full history of every client interaction. A related proprietary tool is Elinext’s elinext inventory management — a purpose-built system that replaced spreadsheet-based stock tracking with barcode scanning, automated reorder alerts, and supplier management workflows. A related proprietary initiative produced Elinext’s elinext leave management — a purpose-built web application that replaced email-based absence requests with a structured workflow covering request submission, manager approval, and HR record-keeping. Elinext also built its own elinext meeting room management software — an internal booking tool that lets employees check real-time room availability, reserve conference spaces, and receive calendar notifications ahead of scheduled meetings.

The primary challenge was to rapidly build interactive prototypes for both desktop and mobile platforms, reflecting the planned UI/UX while ensuring intuitive flow and responsive design. The client provided visual designs and explainer videos to support the development team in understanding the proposed user journey. Elinext also delivered the body tan scan app, a consumer mobile application for real-time skin tone analysis across multiple smartphone platforms.

The detailed scope of work connected with the testing of the new platform included  This reflects Elinext’s vertical CRM expertise, including custom CRM for construction built to centralise project pipelines, site team coordination, and client relationship tracking for construction businesses.

  • CVS File Upload
  • Automatic test case import
  • Implementing a new optional test case parameter “Carrier”
  • Sequential test case execution
  • Opportunity to delete all test cases via a single button press
  • Possibility to set test schedules for all test cases in one step

Final Product Overview

We were tasked with turning static designs and conceptual video demos into a fully clickable, functional prototype across desktop and mobile interfaces. The goal was to recreate the visual layout and to simulate a smooth, realistic booking experience. A related Elinext engagement delivered a school management software development solution, replacing spreadsheet-based administration with a unified system for managing student records, exam schedules, and teacher workloads.

Key Deliverables:

  • High-fidelity, interactive desktop version of the booking engine
  • Fully responsive mobile prototype with consistent functionality
  • Implementation based on designs and workflows shared via Google Drive
  • Seamless alignment with the company’s branding and booking flow logic
  • Prepared for usability testing and stakeholder demonstration

The development team followed an iterative prototyping approach, ensuring early feedback loops and adjustments to meet TUI’s expectations in both form and functionality. A related Elinext engagement focused on document processing app development, building a pipeline that ingests scanned contracts and invoices, extracts structured data, and pushes it directly into the client’s ERP system.

The resulting prototypes enabled the customer’s internal team to:

  • Evaluate the booking experience across devices
  • Gather user feedback from the panel testing phase
  • Validate UI/UX decisions and identify optimization opportunities
  • Accelerate the next phase of full product development

Business Effects for Client

  • Faster Time to Market for design validation
  • Effective Stakeholder Alignment with interactive demos
  • Enhanced Clarity for developers ahead of production implementation

The prototype served as the foundation for the fully integrated booking engine across their digital properties. This reflects Elinext’s domain-specific CRM expertise, including custom agriculture CRM consulting for a client needing to digitise farm operations, dealer relationships, and supply chain workflows.

We remained open for follow-up collaboration in front-end and back-end development should the project move into production. For this particular project, they proceeded with their own capabilities, but we cooperated on other projects with the same company. Prototype-stage agility and full-stack depth like this translate across industries, including to consumer-facing apps such as the ariel deep down cleaning.
