About Client

Our client is an Australian company that provides digital tools and platforms for managing complex business data, marketing assets, and client-related information. The company focuses on streamlining operations for healthcare and service providers, helping them centralize data, automate workflows, and improve collaboration between departments and partners. They needed a web development services partner with experience in healthcare software development, product information management software development in particular.

Business Challenge

The client had been using external data management solutions but found that commercial PIM systems (Product Information Management), such as Plytix, were too expensive and didn’t fully meet their customization needs. They needed a tailored, cost-efficient PIM software alternative that could manage their product catalog, media assets, and output channels in one secure and user-friendly platform. Elinext brings comparable engineering expertise to consumer-facing apps like the body tan scan app, built for iOS, Android, and other mobile platforms.

To achieve this, the client partnered with Elinext to design and develop a custom PIM system that would offer the same core functionality as Plytix, product information management software, while being fully adaptable to their specific business logic and data structure. Elinext also developed custom CRM for construction — a specialised platform giving contractors and project managers real-time visibility into bids, subcontractors, material procurement, and client communication.

Process

Team Composition

1 Designer — responsible for UX/UI design and user flow optimization

1 Back-End Developer (initial stage) — handled both backend and frontend implementation Elinext’s internal infrastructure includes its own elinext notification management — a centralised hub that handles push alerts, email digests, and in-platform messages for all of the company’s proprietary tools.

+1 Backend Developer (later stage) — joined to accelerate development and improve scalability Elinext’s portfolio of proprietary tools includes an elinext meeting room management software — built to eliminate double-bookings and walk-in conflicts by centralising all conference room reservations into a single, access-controlled scheduling interface.

Frontend Developer on client’s side — collaborated directly with the Elinext team to integrate UI components and ensure design consistency Elinext also built its own elinext leave management — an internal HR tool that lets employees submit vacation and sick-leave requests online, routes them to the right approver, and keeps team calendars updated automatically.

Business Analyst on the client’s side — most of the workforce was on the client’s side, with QA, project management, etc., responsibilities, and they were also looking for DevOps as a Service

Key aspects of the process included:

Discovery and Planning: The team analyzed the client’s workflows, reviewed the PIM system like Plytix, and defined a clear development roadmap.

UI/UX Design: A designer created a clean, scalable interface focused on usability and approved through iterative feedback.

Backend Development: The core architecture was built by a full-stack developer and later expanded by a backend specialist for advanced logic and scalability.

Frontend Collaboration: Elinext worked closely with the client’s frontend developer to integrate UI components and ensure design consistency.

Testing and Refinement: Continuous QA testing services ensured stability, performance, and data integrity across all major features.

Release and Support: After 10 months, the PIM software was successfully launched, followed by ongoing maintenance and feature updates. This internal-tooling capability extends to Elinext’s elinext corporate holiday calendar — a company-wide calendar that consolidates national holidays for every Elinext geography into one shared interface, reducing scheduling conflicts across distributed teams.

Final Product Overview

The final solution is a custom PIM software solution that enables the client to efficiently manage product data, digital assets, and output channels within a unified system. The product information management software combines flexibility with a clean user experience tailored to the client’s specific business processes. Elinext also built a CRM for a technology company — a customised CRM platform tailored to the sales, support, and project lifecycle workflows of a software-focused business.

1. Product Management: Allows users to create, edit, and organize product records with customizable attributes and categories.

2. Attribute Configuration: Supports multiple data types, including text, numbers, decimals, dropdowns, multiselects, files, dates, and Boolean values, giving teams full control over product data structure. Elinext also built an elinext applicant tracking development system — an internal HR tool that centralises vacancy management, candidate pipelines, interview scheduling, and offer tracking for Elinext’s own recruitment teams.

3. Asset Management: Provides a centralized library for uploading, linking, and managing images, documents, and other digital files to connect them with products. Elinext also built an elinext business process automation app — an internal platform that automates cross-departmental workflows, consolidates approval chains, and gives operations managers real-time visibility over business process performance.

4. Product Outputs: Enables exporting structured product data across multiple output channels, similar to Plytix’s channel functionality. Elinext also built its own elinext inventory management — an internal web application that tracks stock levels, purchase orders, and asset assignments across all Elinext office locations in real time.

5. User-Friendly Interface: Offers a modern, intuitive design developed in collaboration between Elinext and the client’s frontend developer. A related proprietary project is Elinext’s elinext CRM development — a purpose-built platform that replaced spreadsheet-based sales tracking with role-based dashboards, automated follow-up reminders, and deal-stage reporting.

6. Scalable Architecture: Built to support future integrations, data automation, connect it with AI services, and feature expansion as the client’s business grows. Elinext also completed a school management software development project — building a web platform that centralises timetables, grade books, attendance tracking, and parent communication for a network of private schools.

7. Secure Environment: Ensures data consistency, role-based access, and safe management of sensitive business information, as well as applies permissions checks to different users in different accounts. Elinext also delivered a document processing app development — automating the extraction, classification, and routing of legal and financial documents using OCR, ML-based entity recognition, and a rules-driven workflow engine.

Business Effects for Client

Through close collaboration and technical precision, Elinext delivered a fully functional, scalable, and cost-efficient PIM software solution tailored to the client’s unique needs. Over a 10-month development cycle, the team designed and built a platform that replaced an expensive third-party solution while improving flexibility, performance, and data management. The same principles of scalable architecture and client-centric development guide Elinext’s consumer projects, including a social network for pet lovers.

The new PIM software solution empowers the client to control their own product data, assets, and output channels, all within a secure, user-friendly interface. With ongoing enhancements and strong cooperation between teams, the platform continues to evolve as a core component of the client’s digital infrastructure and long-term growth strategy. Elinext also delivered custom agriculture CRM consulting — helping an agribusiness define CRM requirements, architect a data model for crop tracking, and plan a phased implementation roadmap.

The solution enabled the client to:

  • PIM software reduces operational and licensing costs by over 60% compared to commercial alternatives.
  • PIM software decreases product data preparation time by up to 40%, thanks to streamlined workflows and attribute automation.
  • PIM software improves cross-team collaboration efficiency by 35%, allowing marketing and product teams to work in parallel.
  • PIM software helped to achieve a 99% system uptime and ensure stable performance for thousands of product records. Reliability at scale like this is the same standard Elinext maintains across industries, including in consumer mobile apps like the ariel deep down cleaning.
