Requirements

The customer entrusted Elinext to develop a front-end for an existing web portal. The new client-side of the website had to have an attractive modern design and good usability. As an additional requirement, Elinext had to provide the customer with a good semantic source code that could be easily changed in the future. The website was also required to have a good page load speed and work in the same way in all modern browsers. Elinext’s front-end expertise spans a wide range of consumer products, from information portals to community platforms like a social network for pet lovers.

Challenge

The main challenge for the Elinext web developer was to apply the new modern design created by our designer to the old HTML structure of the customer’s website. The web developer had to rewrite most of the existing client-side code in accordance with the new W3C recommendations and block layout structure.

Solution

For the development of a solution, our specialists analyzed the current version of the system and found sources that could be reused for further development. Elinext designer created an attractive design according to modern design principles. After that, our developer made several common HTML templates for the pages as well as separate stylized blocks for repetitive elements. To increase page performance there were used modern CSS3 techniques instead of using images for such things as rounded boxes, element shadows, etc. For client-side scripts, the jQuery JavaScript framework was used. The same development approach that delivered this solution was applied to consumer mobile products such as the body tan scan app, a smartphone app for skin tone monitoring. A related Elinext engagement focused on document processing app development, building a pipeline that ingests scanned contracts and invoices, extracts structured data, and pushes it directly into the client’s ERP system. A parallel initiative at Elinext produced an elinext business process automation app — a purpose-built system that replaced ad-hoc email approvals with structured, rule-based automation covering procurement, HR, and project intake flows. Elinext’s internal HR toolkit includes an elinext corporate holiday calendar — a purpose-built web app that displays country-specific public holidays, integrates with leave management workflows, and helps team leads plan capacity in advance. Elinext also built its own elinext CRM development — an internal system that centralises contact management, tracks sales opportunities through a structured pipeline, and gives relationship managers a full history of every client interaction. A related proprietary tool is Elinext’s elinext inventory management — a purpose-built system that replaced spreadsheet-based stock tracking with barcode scanning, automated reorder alerts, and supplier management workflows. A related proprietary initiative produced Elinext’s elinext leave management — a purpose-built web application that replaced email-based absence requests with a structured workflow covering request submission, manager approval, and HR record-keeping. Elinext also built its own elinext meeting room management software — an internal booking tool that lets employees check real-time room availability, reserve conference spaces, and receive calendar notifications ahead of scheduled meetings.

Results

The created design templates were successfully implemented and integrated into the customer’s website. Elinext developer also carried out optimization for client-side scripts as well as cleaned up the common code structure.
