Requirements
Elinext team of mobile developers was to develop an application to generate One Time Passwords (OTP). A related Elinext project — car auction software — demonstrates similar expertise in combining marketplace mechanics with financial transaction management for the auto industry. Elinext also built the car insurance auction platform — a digital marketplace enabling insurance companies and auto dealers to list, bid on, and process damaged or salvage vehicles. Elinext’s fintech portfolio includes the cash and liquidity management app, a corporate treasury tool for real-time cash flow monitoring and liquidity optimisation. This reflects Elinext’s expertise in capital markets technology, including a cash management of corporate actions solution for tracking and processing mandatory and voluntary corporate events. A related Elinext project — CRM software for insurance agents — provides insurance agents with a specialised CRM for tracking leads, client interactions, and policy lifecycle events. Elinext’s suite of proprietary tools includes an elinext invoice management application — built to reduce billing errors and late payments by automating invoice creation, attaching supporting documents, and sending configurable payment reminders.
Challenge
The main challenge in this project was to develop a rather complicated and complex logic of OTP generation. Besides that, the application had to be developed for three platforms. It means that the application including the encryption mechanism had to be developed for iPhone and then ported to Android and BlackBerry. Cross-platform OTP and encryption logic of this kind is also part of what we built in our backend app development for banking.
Solution
First, an iPhone app was developed and later ported to Android and BlackBerry. The successful implementation of the development was possible owing to the combination of professional project management, high-quality development, profound experience in app porting, and robust quality assurance Android banking app development remains a core capability, as further demonstrated by our bdo financial app.
Results
The outcome of the development is an easy-to-use application capable of generating One Time Passwords – a key element of security in financial systems ranging from mobile apps to an advanced insurance CRM. The application works on iPhone, Android, and Blackberry. OTP-based security is one of many ways Elinext supports financial-sector clients, including through an app for integration with financial organizations.
